WebThe 500i is an excellent and peppy saw, my only complaint is how quickly it burns through fuel (it goes through a tank faster than my 3120xp, which is considerably larger). I tend to grab the 460 w/ 28” bar over anything else when I’m felling or bucking appropriately sized logs. It’s just personal preference, but I like the 460 better than the 500. WebDec 3, 2024 · A ported 70cc saw would be competition for it in both weight and power. I wonder how much room for improvement there is in porting a 500i, might not be much if any, and that's a good thing in a way. It holds a tiny bit more gas than a 441, but less oil (I don't like that, I already feel Stihl tends toward too little oil much unlike Echo).
