WebAug 26, 2012 · The brake light assembly on the Jeep Grand Cherokee is defectively designed. I found that there is a moisture problem (the seal on the assembly is not sufficient) which causes the bulbs to blow. This problem has been reported on many posts. There really should be a recall as it is a safety issue.

If none of the brake lights work and the fuse is ok, i would first check the brake switch. It is adjustable. You can even remove the connector from the switch and put a jumper wire between the two pins, to check for a switch problem. If this all ok, check for voltage at the light bulbs.
